About Wendy Do
This is my story about my personal journey to find my passion in MarCom and Advertising
I am a Media and Communications Graduate from University Academy 92.
I have always been fascinated by the Marketing and Advertising industry and aspire to join the ranks of talented individuals, contributing to groundbreaking creative campaigns, after I graduate.
However, my path to this point was anything but straightforward. It took me quite some time to truly envision what and where I want to be in the future.
I've always been someone who excels in various fields and enjoys diverse interests. This made my journey to discover my true passion a process filled with trials, and errors, but also filled with different levels of success.
My early uni days were an exploration, a time when I tested the waters and learned from experiences to unravel my genuine calling.
My journey started with a year of studying Hotel Management at Foreign Trade University, driven by my love for backpacking and curiosity to learn about different cultures through their people, and their rich culinary tapestry, etc.
I also carried forth my quest for self-discovery outside of academia through active participation in interest-related organizations.
I joined different student-based organizations at the university. I dared to step beyond the familiar grounds of volunteering, art, and education, delving into new domains such as startups, human resources, TEDx— and tried different roles as External Relationships Executive, Communications Officer, and Content Creator.
This hands-on experience, coupled with a fascination for Business Strategies and Human Behavior, gradually molded my interest in the captivating realms of Marketing, Communications, and Advertising.
Not only when Covid-19 hit and I had to move back home due to the quarantine, but I also had time to sit down and deeply question myself what the next step I would take for my future.
In that moment of introspection, the support of my teacher and, above all, the unwavering encouragement of my family fueled my determination to chase my passion for MarCom and Advertising wholeheartedly.
Looking back, the decision to leave behind everything, my family, friends, familiarity, and opportunities in Vietnam to start anew in England seems like a feat of bravery. But armed with passion and a knack for the Marketing and Advertising industry, I believe that the UK, homed to many big brands and agencies, holds the stage where I can truly grow and shine.
